  • State Fair

    This is the first time I've looked forward to going to the State Fair in years... for many years when I worked for the City I had to either work a recruiting booth for some public service department. Being an IT officer, I was attached to the Fire, EMS, Police Department and the Jail... so I worked the booth for all of them. We had mobile terminals there that took online applications, had to keep them running.

    And at times when the uniform presence was light I had to put on blue and work with the security team there. It was not fun and for many years after I dreaded going to the fair.

    Now I can see the ehxibits and can take the time to enjoy them. Looking forward to it as it's air conditioned, cheaper than a movie and we can stay
    ALL day :-) our state braggs about having the largest indoor airconditioned fair. The rides are outside... but the other stuff is all INSIDE.
