Every now and then I come across message asking for prayer. Just
wondering if there is enough interest to start a Prayer request and
praise echo on the NA backbone? If there is enough interest I would be
willing to moderate and echolist such and echo. At this point I am just
polling to see if there is any interest for such and echo. Any thoughts
or interest?

Problem is, some won't ignore it, they will just come on and post filthy anti-Christian messages and foul up the entire thing. I have gotten to hate reading some of the Christian echoes lately, they are so full of garbage. I know everyone has the right to think what they want, but why not use a little common courtesy and good judgement.

I'd put plainly in the rules that the echo isn't for religious debate, and keep
it moderated to keep that sort of content out of it. And maybe make a second echo for religious debate, if people truly want to get into that sort of thing.
That way everybody's happy, and no opinion has to be silenced. Questionable posts could also be moved to the debate echo, for all that goes, instead of deleting.

I saw more than enough of that in the Dove-Net Religion echo. I even got
a nasty comment on that in the ZeNet Christian echo, and told them that
"no one is holding a gun to your head to read this echo". I never got a
reply back, so I don't know if they left the echo on their own, or what.

That hasn't been the case in Fido or on Usenet for decades. As long as
people can and do hide behind a keyboard and display they can and do
say the most outrageous things one can imagine - things that they would
never say or admit to having said in a face-to-face discussion.

I believe familynet has such an echo and it's gated into fidonet.

Ask Bob Hoffman... if you are not a member of Family Net you might want to look at it... good people are there.
