A better approach might of been to ask if anyone has a legitimate license key for Windows 7 you can have, so you are not running cracked/pirated Windows.

You might of been surprised at the answer.

I have purchased legit license codes from Ebay. Using one of them here on my Windows 10 box which passed Microsoft when I rebuilt it new several months

I've done the same thing before too, but I've noticed sometimes that if you bought a key and you don't get around "right away" to deploying it, there becomes a problem trying to activate with it. And around the time you think of emailing the seller about the problem, Ebay has removed the listing for violation of their policies.

Its sure as hell better than those stupid pirated/cracked Windows ISO's on the pirate sites. You never know what goodies will be bundled inside of them.

Very true. The message the sender sends you says activate immediately. ;)

ArcaOS is the latest third-party version of OS/2 Warp 4.52. It's what Outpost BBS is running on albeit a slightly older version (I need to renew my support subscription to get the latest), It has some parts of Linux "baked" into it now and it's quite nice.

As for Windows 10, I just set up a Virtualbox VM for testing Cheepware but that's about it. Besides the BBS, I am now running Devuan Linux for everything
including my personal laptop and ham shack computer.

Right now I'm VNC'd into the BBS from my laptop.

The main reasons I'm using ArcaOS is SMP support, improved USB support, a lot of Linux ports available, updates to a lot of the internal programs, better network support (especially with the GENCOM wrappers), and overall better usefulness than straight Warp 4.52. With that being said, if I have issues, I do have my old reliable NetVista desktop here that will run Warp 4.52 like a champ but without USB access.

With my current life situation, it's going to be quite some time before I can renew my ArcaOS support subscription but I do get the free updates via ANPM (Arca Noae Program Manager) which is good enough for now.

They have free updates of various drivers, et cetera, that you can get no matter what. The actual ArcaOS updates, such as new versions, kernel updates, and the rest you have to have a subscription for.

I do believe with ArcaOS 5.0.4, you can now upgrade the OS "in place"; something you couldn't do easily with OS/2 directly.
We should probably move this discussion over to OS2 since we've strayed a good bit from discussing Windows. :)

True...but I seem to remember that there were people working on getting

Some programs will, some won't. What you're thinking of is what's called Win32S (or Win32C). It's still available but not fully supported.

Fun fact: in 1998 and 1999, I was working in Austin, Texas. I knew a lot of people that worked at IBM there (and at that time, that was the "home" of OS/2). While this never left the lab, I did see a version of OS/2 Warp 4.52 that had -full- compatibility with Windows 95 but because of the acrimony between Microsoft stealing OS/2 to make Windows NT and IBM, that little gem never came to see the light of day.

Boy...that would be the cats meow. Being able to run 95 programs. Even in
this day/age...that would still be better than what is there now. Would
almost give a body part to get a copy of that. Might be able to run OS/2 as a production box.

Flashback to 1994, when I was trying to get OS/2 with Windows working with OS/2 and Windows network apps. I could get the OS/2 native apps working just fine, but after banging my head against the wall on it for a couple of
weeks, relented and put another network card into the machine, ran the
Windows NDIS drivers on it and used it for Winsock apps and used the main
    NIC for OS/2.

That was the death knell for OS/2 at my office; NT 3.51 did most everything
I needed and worked out of the box. I ran the BBS at home on OS/2 for some time, running OS/2 and DOS console apps rocked under OS/2.

    https://microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 has all the
    information you'll need.

I did a Windows 10 installation using a Windows 7 OEM license around
the same time in September and it worked for me. I bought a legit
Windows 8 license some time ago and it's worked with Windows 10 ever
    since.

    ... Is the tuning appropriate?
