I see the option under FidoNet to poll your uplinks, but could there be a feature added to poll a specific node?
Like:
FidoNet
|--> Poll
|--> Poll Node
|------> <sysop 1 - 1:234/567>
|------> <sysop 2 - 1:456/789>
This may be helpful when adding FTN networks and testing of if you find there is an issue with uplinks, etc.

Assuming you're using BinkIt as your FTN mailer, yes, it supports command-line options to poll a specific node: https://wiki.synchro.net/module:binkit#command-line_options
