The Iran War. A reassessment of who is winning

The war surrounding Iran is not exactly discussed in a balanced manner in the free Western press.
We constantly hear about the losses Iran is said to have suffered, but how much attention is paid to the losses of the United States?
Have you heard anything about the number of missiles and drones that landed on the thirteen American military bases in the Middle East?
If there were more than a hundred, wouldn't that be news?
If there were more than a thousand, wouldn't that be a scandal?
And if there were at least 5,400, while those bases are now largely abandoned and heavily damaged, can you still maintain that the US has “won” here?
Even the New York Times mentioned the number of 5,400 drones and missiles. That is not an anti-war newspaper; on the contrary. The newspaper supported several previous wars in the Middle East. That is precisely why it is striking that they produce such figures, even if they are damaging to the image of the US as a global power.
According to various reports, American troops in the Middle East are now operating from hotels and civilian buildings, because the existing air defenses proved to be no answer to the enormous numbers of drones and missiles.
Iran lost a navy with ships that were, on average, more than fifty years old. The Iranian Air Force also largely possessed outdated aircraft. On the other hand, according to this account, the US has largely lost its thirteen most important bases in the region. And yet America supposedly won? Shouldn't there be another interpretation to counter that?
Moreover, Iran claims to have hit American ships. Due to the striking silence from Washington regarding the situation at the bases, I am more inclined to take those claims seriously than to automatically dismiss everything as propaganda. Aircraft carrier groups will eventually have to return to their home ports. How many emergency repairs can be carried out at sea before the true extent of the damage becomes apparent?
This war has already cost the US tens of billions. That bill continues to rise every day. Meanwhile, Iran continues to refuse to back down. Why would they, if they feel they are winning?
The US is increasingly operating from Europe. But with Trump as president, the question is how long European countries will continue to accept this. Should Europe restrict access to military facilities, American striking power in the Middle East would immediately diminish significantly.
Even an American withdrawal from NATO would then no longer be unthinkable, something that would fundamentally call into question the US position as the dominant global power.
Trump appears to be steering the United States toward a geopolitical abyss at unprecedented speed.
