They voted overwhelmingly for Trump, but it is primarily thanks to Trump's policies that the number of bankruptcies in the US agricultural sector is increasing enormously.
They consciously chose against their own interests, and they are entirely to blame.
The US is a free country, but people chose to continue watching certain TV channels. They could have heard the truth on other channels, but their own conservatism forbade them from watching those other channels. Now they wonder why what is happening to them is happening to them.
It is sad, but it is their own fault. Unfortunately, they learn nothing from it. They remain conservative, and most will continue to follow false prophets in the next election as well. Simply because they slavishly do what they are told and/or are trapped in a self-imposed prison of ultra-conservative channels that are in fact in the hands of the richest people on earth who have found their ideal goose that lays the golden eggs here. People who would like to be completely squeezed dry for a spot in an ideal heaven after their earthly existence.
Einstein already said that there are two things infinite... The universe and human stupidity. He only doubted the first one.
