• Turbo Pascal bundle...

From Gene Buckle@1:138/142 to All on Wed Feb 15 09:06:56 2017
I've been working on getting a good development environment for Turbo Pascal 7.01 (Borland Pascal) and I thought some might be interested in getting their hands on a copy. :)

Here's what I've got so far:
Borland Pascal 7.01 with the RTL source code included as well as the stock Crt unit with the RTE 200 patch.
Robert AH Prins' version of Norbert Juffa's optimized RTL units. This version also hase the RTE fix and is 80386+. The sources can be found on the net as BPL70N20.ZIP

TurboPower Object Professional v1.21 patched to v1.30
TurboPower Turbo Professional v5.21 patched to 5.22
    TurboPower Async Professional 2.0
    TurboPower B-Tree Filer v5.41

Any suggestions for other things to include? The "distro" will be a single zip file from the root of the installation directory.

i'm sure there are some out there interested in such a package... it would be really great, too, if the code was also FPC compilable...

    can it compile FlightGear? ;) ;) ;)

Well all the sources are included, so if someone wants to try their hand at an FPC port. :)

It would be nice if the TTT & TOT were ported to FPC... :D

(and no, it can't compile FlightGear, although Turbo C++ v3.0 is included...)

i think some stuff has been ported... i recall one of the guys involved offering to help others do some porting if it was desired...

hahehehehe... i was kinda waving to you from the other side of the MP server discussion on the FG Dev mailing list where the connections of the fidonet backbones were mentioned and it was suggested that the MP servers could connect
in a similar manner to prevent SPoF as has been seen several times in the last couple of years ;) O:)

    Gene Buckle:

I've been working on getting a good development
environment for Turbo Pascal 7.01 (Borland Pas-
    cal)

If it is for MS-DOS and people work in it from with-
in Dosbox, I should suggest including a reference to
my pixel-perfect patch for Dosbox that ensures crys-
tal-clear image magification with best aspet-ratio
approximation using integer scales and without any
    interpolation arteracts.

Consider also inclusion by reference of by value of
    the official printed documentaion:

    1. User's guide,
    2. Language guide, and
    3. Programmer's reference

    available here for download:
