    From Scott Adams@1:112/91 to All on Wed Dec 27 07:42:45 2006

    I likely wouldn't have become a programmer if it weren't
    for the pascal out there. Though technically first language
    was basic. Some 30 computer languages later and 3 decades
    later its been fun. I've learned a great deal from this
    echo. Back when it got 1000 posts a day. I still have
    archives of great replies and tips. Swag is one such
    creature from this echo that is a constant assest as well

    Its been fun. But when I close (2/1) I'll miss the echo.

    Course I won't miss the ads but the occasional post has been
    fun.

    Memories of this echo man. I could remembe spending HOURS
    going through threads in this echo.....

    Sigh...

    Program TheEnd
    Uses BBS, Telegard;

    Begin
    (* Insert 2 decades of fun *)
    Writeln('tons of posts, tons of fun');
    Readln(Friendships, knowledge);
    end.

    Compile and End.

    It sounds as though you're closing a BBS. Couldn't you continue to read the echo as a private node or point?

    Regards,

    Its all a big IF ...if I can find a good bbs to telnet
    on and a good feed for the various echos I like. I
    tend to read...about 6 fidonet echos.
    We shall see.

    I didn't know that many echoes were active! ;-) Seriously though, I can relate. I've just plugged Mrs. Ball's mobile phone into a unix box and I'm about to use free minutes to try a couple of numbers in Region 11. Wish me luck! :-)
