    i was experiancing system problems and the rules didn't get posted on their normal schedule... i think i'm going to incorporate something new that i've found... a neat bat file routine from the 4dos echo, iirc... runs things on a schedule or as soon thereafter as possible... that'll enable me to have rules and such posted after i've gotten things unstuck...

    FWIW: i'll run the rules post in just a sec ;-)

    This is a bit off topic here in OS/2 Programming, but I use a util
    called setdate which allows you to make environ vars of
    practically anything to do with the date, such as day of week, day
    of month, month, year etc., so it becomes a simple line like
    if %DAY% == 01 or if %DOW% == Mon or if %MON% == Jan, etc.

    Cheers...

    hehe, how? aren't we talking about programming in OS/2? <<GG>>

    yes, i've stuff like that already... the problem is when that point in time has
    passed when the system gets around to checking things again... this item i speak of above will execute things after their time has passed to make sure that they do at least get executed... its something that i've been wanting to get in place for a while... now that its working, i guess its time to implement
    it in the bbs' maint schedule... actually, it might even take over the bbs' maint schedule OB-)

    Yah, that's where I have my call, in the bbs's maint, for
    autopostings on certain date/days, plus in my exit on mail,
    as well as my exit to the bbs, so my vars are current at all times

    The one thing I do like about setdate is that you can also create
    vars plus or minus from the current year/date/time. It's a handy
    little util.

    Cheers...
