From Phil Kimble@1:128/2 to All on Sun Oct 1 07:47:50 2017
    Hello everyone,

Plz excuse any dem0nstrated ignorance on my part as I am new to this echo; I am
trying to get OS2 Warp 4 setup under VMWare for the sake of running a bbs. A bit of sanity I agree & when asked why? My typical response if "why not".

Are there any good bbs programs out there that continue to do well or have most
    gone to the way side?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Robert Wolfe ((1:116/17) would probably be a good source :)

    (And yes, indeed, "why not"?!)

Why not? Because you can run OS/2 in a real hardware! Like I do! :D

Personally, I preferred to go all native and run native versions of
Maximus 3.01, FastEcho 1.46.1, FrontDoor 2.33/mL, Internet Rex and
    AllFix.

However, I am running all of my /2 stuff under ArcaOS Pro 5.0.1 here at
    home.

That is unless you DON'T HAVE any additional "real hardware" to spare
for OS/2 or hardware that, well, just simply doesn't like a "real" OS :)

Nope, situations are preventing accumulating real hardware. I agree it would be
the easier approach. I have a mac book pro & an Intel i5 NUC with ESXi installed for test labs.
