I'm running Nebeaux on Warp3fp40/LANtastic1.12 and it is

    Doug,

I run TAG and Front Door under Warp-4.
    Started with Warp 3 many years ago. I also bought 1 license of Lantastic/2 just to see what it was like. Drove me nuttier then I already am. :}

I also have TCP/IP set up for Netscrape.

Y'need to find Chris Martin. He's running WC! under Warp 4, IIRC.

Not quite yet, Sean, I do have a copy of W4 and the FP's but
haven't tried to upgrade the OS on the antique BBS machine yet.
Waiting for it to kinda die (CPU/etc) so I can transfer the HD
and minimal hardwre to a newer machine. That would be the time
for me to upgrade, as the W3 fp42 system is so stable, right now.

Good to hear from ya though... :*)

I'm pretty sure I "talked" with Chris a while back when I
was trying to get my Fido feed running. He steered me to
ViaMail (which, wonder of wonders, is how I'm "talkin'" to

TAG is a DOS board? Forgive my ignorance, but my
experience as a SysOp started with GTPowerComm v9 until I
graduated to Wildcat v4.01 in '94. My development got
pretty arrested at that point since I get violently ill at
the prospect of relying on a WinDoze OS for anything more
important than solitaire or JoeCartoon.com. :-)

I also have TCP/IP set up for Netscrape.

OOOoooof, I remember the multiple tens of hours I put into
making LANtastic and IBM's TCP/IP work together on a Warp3
box back in the bad ol' days when I was running Nebeaux on
a pair of 286 DOS boxen and a single Warp3 386. Man, that
was a *bad* time, but I did finally beat it.

Are you running the v4.5 Warp kernel on your system?

Actually, I never used TCP/IP on Warp 3, but it did take a bit of head scratching to get it going when I first got Warp 4. Once I realized the systems could 'ping' each other I knew I was close. I found I needed to install TCP/IP first, then NETBIOS to see the Windy boxes.

Are you running the v4.5 Warp kernel on your system?

Not on the board. There has been some good and bad chatter about it and I just dont have the time to work on it. I did start setting up a box with it at FP 14 or 15, but never copied the board & utilities over to it.
I got side tracked with eCS and SIO2K and have been running in circles with a fossil problem with Front Door.
I suspect I need the latest FP for it and havent had time to install it.

Chris Martin, The MARS Station BBS

It's really hard to get excited about doing an upgrade on
a system that just works isn't it? :-)

I lost a hard drive on the master BBS server, that's what
spurred me to try the Warp4/WSeB upgrade. After a week of
downtime and horrible fits, I finally threw in the towel
and rebuilt my three old Warp3/LANtastic boxen and brought
Nebeaux back up on the old platform.

It leaves me with no "evolutionary upgrade" path though,
I'm stuck with two completely incompatible networks. The
Warp3 boxen can't "see" the WSeB server and the Warp4 boxen
can't "see" the LANtastic network. I guess I could try to
build a Warp3 box and just use Connect as the NOS, but it
would still require an "all or nothing" approach to the
    experiment.

You're using Warp Connect to run your BBS? How many boxes?

I've heard there are numerous issues with Warp4.5 and SIO2K. Some

I've heard a couple of good ones, and many bad ones.
    Seems it may
be hardware/software FP level sensitive. The few good
    ones I read
that they had to update a couple of other things, I don't
    recall
what, but whatever they did, worked.

Chalk my system up as one of the failures, then, since I can not get SIO2K to work with FD 2.33/commercial. SIO 1.60d works just fine, however, with this version of Warp 4, FP 13 system, running on an old Gateway 486/33 machine. I've
even communicated with Ray Gwinn about the subject, with no resolution.

Actually you make a valid point. I haven't tried to load
TCPbeui on those poor ol' Warp3 boxen. That might well be
a way to accomplish this thing on my "evolutionary" means.
If I could see the WSeB box through TCPbeui, I could then
start experimenting with a Warp4 box seeing the WSeB server
    through NetBios. HMMMmmm.

You might well have started something Chris.
