it would seem that you don't simply want to delay/sleep for a time
but instead to actually wait for the other task to complete before resuming??
To that extent I'll also mail you my rework of it for DOS called
SNOOZE which doesn't have that problem and will yield up time slices
at the same time it is doing a fair job that WAIT also does ..
Greetings All!
Does anyone know of the existance of a DOS-based utility or
undocumented command which performs similarly to REXX's sleep()
function? I need to be able to put a batch file on hold while mail is being tossed by another process...

Yes and no. :-) I'm attempting to mirror a REXX script with a DOS
batch file, which loops until a semaphore has been cleared.
What's wrong with<snip>
or something similar?
Why don't you use 4OS2 which have all this facilities ?

My goal is a non-CPU intensive loop,
My fiancee rolled her car earlier this morning--it's been a busy
day.
