    Hello Holger!

Let me know if you succeed with that. I have tried to install Warp
4, on several modern machines, without success.

Always as the first operating system, to get the Boot Manager
installed, so I can choose which OS to run.

Maybe running it in a VM, would be successful.

It would be, I've done it successully under VMWare. It's where
    1:140/1 operates.

    Thanks for the info.
Could you also use the OS/2 Boot Manager?

I never tried, as I've never needed to use the boot manager, sorry.

I have successfully converted my running copy of WSEB 4.52 to VMWare. I have also managed to install Warp 4.52 to WMWare from scratch. Both with Boot Manager. However, I haven't seen any reason to play with the original WARP 4.0 anymore. Also, I don't see any reason for multibooting in virtual environment. ;)

My main system is still running in a real hardware. I haven't had enough time to test the virtualized copy. Maybe some time..

you should be able to but why? it is a VM... if you need to run
another OS, run it in its own VM...

My thoughts also, but I do have another OS in my Boot Manager: OS/2 with TSHell, for rescue purposes.

It could be handy also in VM.

I'm lost now, what does WSEB stand for?
Is it the version they also call MCP2?

However, I haven't seen any reason to play with the original WARP 4.0 anymore. Also, I don't see any reason for multibooting in virtual environment. ;)

I can see that, after having tried to install it on various machines
with multiprocessor CPU's, and large harddisks. I still need to tackle
    the MCP2 again.

My main system is still running in a real hardware. I haven't had
enough time to test the virtualized copy. Maybe some time..

So is mine, because it is so reliable.

BTW, thanks for moving the discussion to the OS2 echo.

    Have a nice day,

    Holger

yes, there is that possibility but it should not be neccessary... one might wish greatly for it if they did run into a problem but then it may not be so bad if they have a backup of the VM image before they stuck the stick into the wheel spokes and broke it ;)

Yeah, just set up eCS 2 again in two VirtualBox VMS (one for the BBS and another to handle email traffic using Weasel).
