Most external programs, including doorgames and file transfers (e.g. ZMODEM) aren't currently working on vert.synchro.net and haven't been working since July 23rd (or thereabouts).

I'm actively researching the root-cause of the issues (no, it doesn't appear to
be a Synchronet problem) and hope to resolve it soon. In the mean time, you can
use FTP or Telnet/RLogin/SSH to cvs.synchro.net instead (though, the door games
mostly do not work there either since it's my Linux system).

I'll post an update when I know more,

This problem has been (finally) fixed. The root-cause was a malware infestation
I had back in July which I quickly killed but the damage to Windows had been done and was not easily reversed. I'll be posting more details here: http://wiki.synchro.net/faq:win#socket_io
