• import files.bbs with mutil

From Alessandro Trebbi@2:331/313 to All on Fri May 1 12:55:56 2020

I have configured this option in mutil but I can't import file areas ...

There's no configuration option to specify where to look for files.bbs and I really can't understand where it looks

I thong it was in "files" mystic subdirectory, and tried to substitute it with a symbolic link to real path where I store my files, but file areas are not imported yet

    Hi Alessandro,

There's no configuration option to specify where to look for files.bbs and I really can't understand where it looks

When i look into the mutil.ini i see the following

; The name of the file to look for in each directory
    filesbbs=files.bbs

So when i'm not wrong there you can put the path to look for the files.bbs

    Greetings,
    Rudi

    Hello Alessandro,

I thong it was in "files" mystic subdirectory, and tried to substitute
it with a symbolic link to real path where I store my files, but file areas are not imported yet

I did use this feature many years ago to import some file descriptions from files.bbs. I used a simple files.bbs that looked like this.

FILENAME.EXT This is the first line of the description
Second or third lines can be added also.

Mutil can import other types of files.bbs also but the above worked well for me. I had the files.bbs in the same directory where the files were located and that directory was included in Mystic's config.

    Ttyl :-),

I need something different, just create file areas (that already exists) inside mystic

I have tried to configure this option, bu no area was created

    An alternative ?
I may create a text file with my fileBase and import it, or something like that --- FUDforum on https://fidonet.3bsoft.com
