i have since i run mystic an issus that occur all the time.

my message bases are all fine. you can join into every echo, read all messages. after a time some bases are not joinable anymore by any user. and you can't also read messages or write in this echos.

my question is: why did that happend? have anyone else this experience?

i have to delete the files and perform an rescan - there's no other option left at least for me. may be it's not the best way, but that worked for me in the past.

How often does this happen and do you see any pattern in what precedes
the issue?

i think it pops up around 100 times a year if you count every single echo that broke.

a long time i thought the reason why it happend are some german chars that are very uncommon like öäü. but some very active z-netz echos that i get from a newsgroup server (darkrealms bbs gate) that are also in german didn't broke
and they have some very nasty iso/utf encoding mass up - but the echos are not broken.

i know from the past, that the blackice bbs have a very heavy usage compared
to other mystic boards. but in this case i think not. i know the fluph bbs have more than 14 msg-network like i have at this time.

i don't fix the echos are not working yet with me method, in the hope some one will investigate the files or what ever is todo. it would be great if g00r00 could do, or some one else how is very involved into the mystic msg-system.

if you want to have a look inside pls tell me which files are needed. i will upload them to my bbsindex.de server that ppl can take a closer look to it.

so when the problems start is it something that impacts all users equally and at the same time?

is it a case that all users joined to net A and message base 1 can suddenly
no longer read/write to them?

if bases are not joinable anymore by any user, do users who joined prior to
the problem occurring still have access to read/write?

sorry more questions... just trying to understand the problem :)

lastly have you considered upgrading to A39 which is the recommended version according to the author...?

it's for all users suddenly to same case

will update at the weekend but haven't seen any changes at the msg-base so far.
