what do you mean "partial names"?? one word names when you want real names and ask for handles, nicknames or aliases later?
in the config program, "new user settings 2" has "ask real name" but i don't see anything that forces checking if there's at least two words typed...
IIRC, there's also the TRASHCAN.DAT file in the data directory which contains one user name per line... not sure if one word names are valid in there or if there is a different file for unwanted aliases...
