    Yeah I remember when vinyl meant something at one time. Then switched to CD and now digital files through streaming services.

    I can remember when, for several years, it was very difficult to get a "non-audiophile" stereo system that had a turntable included.

    Right. Early on, the retailers promoted the "matching" brand
    turntable or a curated one for the suggested complete hifi rig.

    Then, as CDs emerged, there was little incentive to even carry
    turntables in stock for the department store grade customer.
