The new Lady Gaga album, Chromatics which came out in 2020 was pretty good. One of her better releases in a while. She said she went back to her old formula again.

If you’re into pop music, I recommend Lady Gaga’s latest album, “Chromatica”. She went back to her old formula on this one and it’s excellent. I give it 5 stars out of 5.

I'm not into club/pop/dance music myself (anymore). [I *did*
enjoy the odd beat-based repetative sequence briefly when I
*did* go to some dance clubs or house parties waaaaay back in
    the day]

No doubt, the Gaga persona is very talented and knows how to
control her voice and stay in key. But most of her appeal
requires the visual theatrical element too to draw attention
(albiet distracting from the strange lyrics at the same time.).
To me, she can't seem to sing many songs independent of fancy
studio techniques and remain interesting enough that bear
repeat listens. Most of her songs seem to have a gimmick to
draw attention. When she gets loud, her voice sounds screetchy
to me. I thought the pair-up with Tony Bennett could work..
but I don't think she's worthy of the blues or crooning style
    for the long term.

She seems to do the visual + pop/dance/club style well.

She claims to be the next Madonna. Which Madonna wants to be like the next Lady Gaga.
