I do both. Personally, I prefer physical media as I do like to read the liner notes and if I do rip the CD, I rip it at a very high rate (using VBR and a high bitrate limit). However, if there's some song that I can't find anywhere else, I'll go looking for it online. I generally ask my friends first before getting things from a stranger. :)

    Later,

I have bought online and then after reinstalling or ??? I can't play
the tracks anymore. I DO NOT like the way DRM works. They are my tracks,
I paid for them why can't I play them?

For artists/albums that I like I prefer the CD for the liner info and
art work (not to mention the ability to listen to the tracks).

    Ttyl :-),

Yes, I have some drm purchased tracks from 2002 and some of them stopped working. so i generally burn 12-14 at a time on cd-r if i only bought individual tracks.

agreed, just need to buy the cd on the first week for the best price

I'm kinda partial to having the physical product. That way, whenever
I rip the tracks I want onto my computer, they usually end up playing
back in the 720 to 800 KBit range, vs. the typical 128 to 160 KBit
range of electronically aquired tracks (at least, most of the ones
    I've seen).
