Got here, tho you original netmail to me has not yet arrived here,
    maybe you could resend it?

I don't even have that original netmail anymore, heh.

    Yep...1st message since 5/27/08.

I wonder if Joe's still around; I gave him this echo years ago when I
quit running Maximus...oh well, at least it's still here. :)

Can't help you with the Linux/dosemu specifics. Handing
hot comm ports around between binaries built for different
target environments is difficult on any platform.

I've been told it's just reading from/writing to stdin/stdout, but
personally, as a door author, I couldn't be bothered since everyone
wants Linux-based doors but no one seems to know any of the specifics...

That's a large part of the problem I think, some missing peices. Michiel Broek (MBSE BBS author) wrote doorlib that work at least with MBSE. I don't know anything about it myself but you might find it interesting. It's here if you'd to have a peek.

http://trmb.ca/files/fidonet/mbse_bbs/doorl095.zip and nudoo090.zip is a note to next user door.

It's more than likely written in C, which is not a programming language I use.

I just don't have the time nor the desire to learn C just to write BBS doors.
