Our PBS station has been running old episodes occasionally. They
weren't DVD quality but I don't remember them being as bad as you
described.

Our reception here sometimes isn't very good, either. It does look like they're running faded old tapes, which is a shame. I live in a college
town, and I'm trying to make young converts to the cause. I first remember seeing MP on PBS as a kid in the 70s, and the picture and sound quality
were better, as I recall.
