• Few Questions

From Tony Toon to All on Mon Nov 2 16:58:26 2020
    All,

Been toying with MBSE for the past week and looked at it a bit before. It's working out pretty nicely so far, but I did have a few questions:

Can I use ctrl-codes in prompts? How so? I tried doing one (^UY) and it didn't seem to display what I wanted.

When I display a plain textfile, is there a directory in which those are found, or do I always need to use the full path?

Anything I should know about setting up internet email? The same machine is running a mail server with SMTP, IMAP and POP3 working.

Finally, is there any kind of 40-column, PETSCII, or other vintage computing support? I'd like to make the system as friendly to vintage hardware as possible.

    Thanks!

The CTRL-codes are only interpreted for display files and not the prompts.

MBSE does not have actual support for plain text file display using the .ASC extension right now but it is something we are working on. For now, all display files should have the extension of .ANS and will be displayed properly.

All you need to know is in the documentation. :) I don't know how many people using MBSE actually use the mail system.

    No.

It will run on a IBM m/f using the *nix sub system or Linux take your pick.

There is or was one sysop running under Linux under a MVS variant.
