    Hello everybody.

    I am trying to install MBSE into an Ubuntu system.

    I have installed all the packages recommended at README.Ubuntu, then I tried to execute the Setup script.

    I am getting the following error message:

    "Adding group 'bbs', user 'mbse' Linux useradd: group 'admin' does not exist"

    What should I do now?

    Well, how did you run the install.sh script?

    There is no install.sh script.

    There's a SETUP.sh script, I ran "sudo bash SETUP.sh".

    1) That is the script I was referring to.

    2) You need to run SETUP.sh as root. 'chmod a+x' the file first and then
    run it from an sh shell and not bash.

    3) Then, once that file is done, log in with the newly created MBSE user
    and continue the setup. You may have to download the tarball again as
    the mbse user first.

    Which version of MBSE are you using? There was a fix for this made in v1.0.6.8.

    Update to the latest version (currently 1.0.6.14) from the SourceForge Mercurial or Git repositories. If you don't feel comfortable using hg or git, the website allows you to download a snapshot.

    I have no 'admin' group either and the SETUP.sh script worked perfectly for
    me every time I rebuild or reinstall it..

    You _MUST_ run the SETUP.sh script as root (do not use sudo)

    sudo su -
    <root password>
    sh SETUP.sh

    If that doesn't work for you then you are one of the unfortunate. I have
    never seen that issue and I have successfully built MBSE on 5 different
    distros

    And that is why it did not work. I posted another message giving you instructions on how to fix this issue

    _NEVER_ use sudo _ALWAYS_ use su to change to root account when doing stuff
    on MBSE BBS. It will give you problems any other way

    Quickstart (type exactly what I type)

    <download/extract source code>
    cd mbsebbs-code
    sudo su -
    <root password>
    sh SETUP.sh
    exit

    The rest of the instructions are the same
