Yes, a book in the hand is nice, but this is portable and I still enjoy reading. :-)

As much as I love the feel of a good book, reading on my phone is much
easier on my eyes. Having all of the free Kindle book sites trolling
Amazon for free reads is great, I have found some wonderful authors I
wouldn't have otherwise if I'd had to seek out and pay for their
books. I've bought their followup books - suppose that's how it's
    supposed to work!

That library lending system is great -- sounds like an appropriate use
    of DRM. :)

My latest fixation is audiobooks. I've got an audible.com account and
am downloading some books I've read before and enjoy them on the road.

I've tried a number of times. I find I get distracted and tune out then
have to keep backing the mp3 up to listen again. I want to like them so
much because let's be honest radio has a very small playlist and I get
bored. (Listen to the radio for my entire 60 hour work week, plus at home
etc etc. Basically we always have a radio on)
