  • GoldEd config file?

    Hi All!

    What are the circumstances where the GoldED etc/golded.inc config file is supposed to be getting updated properly? I've no issues with the one on this old (v0.92) install, but on a test v1.06 install it's not ending up with anything but the warning about it being automatically created.

    mbse always (at least here) updates the file after any changes to the echo (Mbse) DB. That has been the case from the first release I have used up to the
    latest (1.0.6).

    If your system is not getting updated I suggest that you:

    1. Check the o/p from the error.log file and see if there is a msg about it. 2. Check the file attributes to ensure that mbse has w (write) access enabled,
    i.e., using ls -la golded.* you should see:

    ------
    [mbse@Applewood etc]$ ls -la golded.*
    -rwxrwxr-x 1 mbse bbs 4784 Mar 25 18:51 golded.cfg*
    -rwxrwxr-x 1 mbse bbs 16221 Mar 25 22:02 golded.inc*

    -rw-r--r-- 1 mbse bbs 2048 Aug 7 2015 golded.log
    -rw-r--r-- 1 mbse bbs 1026 Mar 28 13:55 golded.msg

    Linix distros can and do have different default file and directory creation settings from the base standard and these can interfere with the way mbse works
    as I sometimes notice with Mageia.

    It should be updated automatically whenever you edit message groups or message areas in mbsetup. Do you have any groups/areas defined yet on this system?
