In the xinetd.d file? Or in init.d? (They're quite different...)

    /lib/rc/sh/rc-functions.sh : line 91: shell_var: command or file not
    find

    Well, what's at that line?

/etc/init.d/mbsebbs: line 38: ebegin : command or file not find /etc/init.d/mbsebbs: line 47: eend: command or file not find *

Looks like an issue with the gentoo startup scripts... (i.e.; not an issue with MBSE.)

Yes, it is an issue in the /init.d/mbsebbs file and I found a old messages on it here in the echo.
So now do I got it all on working and intalled again.
Got all nets setup now for mbse co mbsebbs but I now have to working and found out make the telnet function to work again.

When I try to telnet fido2.kofobbs.net just to make the first bbs user as sysop
in mbsebbs and linux user, is i getting something like - telnet to address 80.63.101.235: connection refused

I have abled it in /etc/xinet.d/mbsebbs file for telnet use with line disable =
    no
and the other lines is like for binkp.kofobbs.dk
This is when I try to telnet for my other linux systems.
When I try telnet fido2.kofobbs.net from it self pc fido2.kofobbs.net do I got the same answer, but telnet localhost is it right and mbsebbs is answer but make mbsebbs and mbtelnet or mbuseradd come up with error on user sysop login and is not make what it is to and have to make nothign and hangs with that the user allready is there.

would be great if one that have installed build an mbse.ebuild that installs it
as it was make install, if there is one that do this hardwork i will stabalize it in fidonet overlay so all get something back

xinetd supports initd script lines if done correct, so no need to convert

Thought you'd already created an ebuild for MBSE? Or am misunderstanding what you're referring to?

Not sure what you're referring to, there; I understood that the issue that Gert is/was seeing was regarding /etc/init.d/mbsebbs, not /etc/inetd.conf or /etc/xinetd.d/mbsebbs...

True, but xinetd has more capabilities so that's what I normally use on my systems...

this was my plan, but since i need a clean gentoo computer to develop it on i never got that done :/

but i will do when i have it all sorted out, its also just that i do not really
know where to begin with it also, and how mbse is working that holds me back

imho Gert used a real telnetd to call mbse, but he should configure mbse as a telnetd instaed, i dont remember all mbse problems right here, it would have being the same if postfix needed an telnetd setup :)))))

The most gentoo mbse install is that the mbse.gentoo script file have still a path error, and this script is been put to /etc/init.d/mbsebbs

Then is mbse install and compile self made a port file its put to xinetd.d as mbsebbs and this file can be modified for the ports mbse is using.
