I've posted a note in the LORD echo and in the Synchronet Sysops echo
about it...so Synchronet's author knows about it. Other Synchronet
Sysops using Synchronet 3.11 or later are having the same problem with
the L.O.R.D. <MORE> prompts.

I just upgraded the hard drive to 120 Gigabytes (the older 30 Gigabyte
drive was rapidly failing)...upgraded the RAM to 512 Megabytes, and
disabled several "start-up programs". So, the BBS should run a bit
smoother, but I don't know about L.O.R.D. just yet.

no sense to me that <more> should act any differently
than another prompt. I can't see it.

However - if it's of any help to you, other Syncronet
sysops, and the syncronet author, I could quite
quickly ( a day or two?) put together another test
igm... (kinda like I did when the newer lord versions
developed a memory leak issue, if you recall)

igm could invite the user to play a silly little
help the sysop game... then time and log all of the
results in the lord dir for you to study up on.

Free, of course.

The problem with the <MORE> deal didn't occur until after Synchronet 3.10L...but besides that <MORE> deal with L.O.R.D. 4.06, and Synchronet
3.12a, the game suddenly wouldn't let me in anymore...and I have no idea
why.

So, I decided to DOWNGRADE the game to L.O.R.D. 3.55, and that
SLOWNESS with the <MORE> deal is GONE. The one main thing I note
"missing" is the "blackjack dwarf" in the forest...but, that's OK. I've
got extra gold from the last game in the Kiteria's Bank IGM by Donald
Tidmore, and am giving extra gold to the human players to help them
rebuild. Unfortunately, there were so many data field differences
between the two that I couldn't swap them over.

That'd be a neat IGM...go for it when you get a chance. Since I told
the comport to lock the data, I have all your IGMs online...except
LORDY, which doesn't work anymore for some reason.

Nothing personal here but I'm not quite sure why you're sticking up for Michael
when he's able to come in here and do it himself. I appreciate your efforts, but we'd all like to hear it from Michael, not you. The last I'd heard your name wasn't on the Gameport contract, either.

I don't know about you, but when I pay for something and keep getting promised something better is coming out, I would like to see it within my lifetime. So do us all a favor and let Michael do the talking, not you. He's a big boy and can stand up for himself.

The last I'd heard, he was using his medications as an excuse not to do anything with LORD. Well, that and he was having marriage problems. Oh, let's
not forget job problems too.

Maybe if he's so unstable, he should pass it on to someone who is stable and can deliver where promises were made.

Me? Well, I went back to LORD 4.06. I found a key floating around and am using it (I did legally register LORD 4.07, so I figure that I've no problems setting up LORD 4.06 since 4.07 has more bugs in it than an interstate trucker's radiator grille). Seems to be working fine so far and without all the weirdness of 4.07.

not that i was aware of. were they all the free ones? i wrote 3 igms.

I think they had both but maybe some said not registered and you needed to register them for those to work. I am going to check my computer and see if I can find the LORD2 one that had all the IGMs

Does anyone have a LORD setup with all the extra addons?

I would say somewhat unlikely as that might result in many conflicts, & some IGMs require registratriohn to do anything at all.

Or do you mean Network LORD & the stuff you need to connect with an interBBS league?

There is a League 1 Lordnet league. Micronet also has an InterLORD league.

I currently have 4 instances of LORD running. A couple have at least one
other player besides myself.
