Dude it won't run in DOS, period. Get an old DOS disk and try it.

    HELLO THERE, ROBERT!!

Well, i loaded up windows 98.. dropped to DOS... exited windows and went to dos.... lord worked.

so, keep your trap shut :D

OH.. please dont tell me that is not good enough...
i ran all my games from dos in win98's dos prompt just fine back in the old days.

***** The Problem is YOU ********

Now, I'm frustrated and I was looking for some assistance from some of the other posters. Instead all I get is lip from a smarmy little twit like you.

GEE thanks. I also like it how i went through the trouble of doing something for you.. something YOU WERE TOO LAZY TO DO, and i got you the correct version of lord for your os.

NO REASON TO THANK ME, ROBERT!

2007, like hell, you're just as bad as the 14 year olds whose parents never paid any attention to them so they'd go raise hell all over everyones boards back in the 80's and 90's.

So what's your excuse? why do you cry like a baby so people run to your rescue? Were you breastfed too long as a child?

Were you wearing diapers well into your adolescence?

If you can't be helpful then just go away.

I got a better idea. why dont YOU just go away and put in an AOL cd and type in keyword: tpibtkatc

BTW, i dont know why i went through all this effort, you probably don't have any users and you probably wont be around for that long. Your bbs is probably untouched like most synchronet bbses.

Glad to be of help, Robert! But... please learn to help yourself, you're a grown man, and if you expect to call yourself a sysop you have to do some of your own work sometimes! :D

okay, cyan tells me that he too gets this lordcfg error.

It appears there is a lord v 4.07 lordcfg/dosemu issue. More likely a flaw in dosemu.

you could use deuce's version of bbs dosbox, OR run v4.06.. or run
the linux flavor of lord v407

i wouldnt really blame this on the lord developer; this version of lord isnt intended to be ran on linux...that's one of the perils of running a linux bbs, i guess.

Another option people could explore is having a friend on a win32 system setup lord with the information you provide [or use a VM], taking those data files and then see if the lord executable will run with dosemu.

On one hand, I would be to blame. On the other, maybe not.

The issue is that I did a "filemode := $46" in a few places. I meant to
    do a "filemode := $44" ($44 = read, write, share)

In Win32, and Win32's cmd.exe, this is not a problem. It gets treated as
$44 and keeps going. I think. I've not tested this in a long time, and
    don't remember.

OS/2 and DosEmu, however, treat the $46 as $02, read only, no share. And
    thus the bug.

On one hand, I would be to blame since I'm the one that typo'd the
$44/$46.. On the other, I have never had an OS/2 or DosEmu setup to test
with and did not get any bug reports until after 4.07 was released.

You're a putz. DOS 6.22 is what I tried it on, it doesn't work. And basically your kind of help no one needs because your smart mouth comes along with it. Michael already took care of it for me, he has handled this with class, you've handled it like the juvenile you try and make everyone else out to be.
