It depends on the version...I had a similar problem. With
Synchronet, L.O.R.D. 4.x runs slower under Windows 98 than under
XP...so, your only choice is 3.55 -- unless you go back to XP.

Right...I'm running 4.06 right now...ran in first under 98, where it was slo under Synchronet. But, when I switched to XP, it worked fine. I think it was the way W98 handled memory issues versus the way XP handles them.

Version 3.55 through 4.1 runs well under XP provided they are patched. They blisteringly fast on my BBS but 4.06 runs slow,
You should upgrade to v4.07

They are very quick about getting the new codes out. Last night I wrote AI>them before I went to bed and this morning the new codes were already here.

take care of you.
I would suggest that you guys just try WRITING to Gameport and give them the
information on how you registered LORD years ago. Then let them work out the
details. Remember when they bought the Lord programs they GUARANTEED to Seth
Robinson that they would honor ALL contractual agreements that he had DT>regarding registrations. If I recall right, that means that regardless how DT>you registered, you DID register. So let Gameport know the situation and DT>have them deal with it.
FYI. The new LORD registration numbers are only applicable to DOS LORD v4.07.
And EVERYONE who has registered LORD, HAS to get the new registration numbers
if you wish to use the official LORD v4.07 game. There are NO exceptions to
that requirement. The numbers you get are in different groupings and the DT>total number of digits is higher also.
