I dont know if it is official, but I have been using it for at least 3 years now. It appears to be quite safe.

v2.31 is the last beta version to be released to testers. v2.29 is the latest production version most users should use. That being said, v2.31 runs as good as 2.29 in every reported case to my knowledge. ;-)

I believe 2.29 is still the "official" release. 2.13 was only made (technically) availeble to those of us in the Internet Rex beta team, however, I MIGHT be wrong. I have seen the 2.31 archive released elsewhere, but I would
not download it myself from any site other that Charles' beta FTP server.

That is an old, old problem with Rex...it is supposed to be able to read
the nodelist and do a fetch or send, but it won't...not much you can do
about it, since for all intents and purposes, Irex is abandonware...

Nothing special about the beta release version that never made it out (I still have it in my archives, however).

Oh I know. It is out in the wild, available in several places. I
dont have it available for download, but am using it <G>

    I'm not.

It's an FTP server run by Charles Cruden that has downloads on
    Internet Rex.

Does it even exist any more? In all the years I ran Irex, I never
knew about it. I got it straight from his BBS file area

Since there isn't anything new to release, it's just as easy to find it on many BBSs...if nothing else, I keep a copy of each here so that it can be
had from here for a netmail...

    So do I, both 2.29 and 2.31
