He played here with the Guess Who two nights ago and
    got rave reviews!

Wow, I sure would have enjoyed it.

After reading the reviews I'm kind of regretting not going, but it
was in a big stadium and I've gone off those sort of large scale
    'events' in recent years.

Does Randy Bachman still play well?

    Yes. Very much so...

Is he still using a Strat?

I don't know. I've seen him use Strats and Les Pauls, and I recently
saw him sitting in on a Burton Cummings performance playing what looked
    like a Gibson 335 or 355.

    Can he still play jazz?

Oh, yeah. He even had some new bits for the rhythm part on "Undun".

He's one of my most admired players....
Randy Bachman played with such mastery that from my listening
perspective, he would take me up and down the fingerboard while
I was trying to figure out what he was doing. Boy, was I
    disoriented.

Hehe... I know what you mean. Especially some of his jazzier stuff
which is still way beyond me. ;-\

Oh gawd...Randy Bachman was a master and Jimmy Page is
overated? Randy made some fun rock 'n roll to part to, but
never in his best moment s could he be considered a master.

I disagree. I think Randy is a *much* better guitarist than most
    people give him credit for.

BTW, saying that Randy Bachman is under-rated and Jimmy Page over-
rated does not necessarily reflect which player I think is better.
Just that IMO, one is under-rated and the other over-rated by most
    people.

By that rational, *I'm* the worlds most underated guitarist! :)
