A friend of mine used to build his own. He was talented at building them and playing them. The first one he built, I used to call it a "Streetocaster" because his last name was Street. I think he was OK with that. He built a few others, IIRC some to sell and maybe some to keep.

I upgraded with parts from GuitarFetish. I sounds great once I figured out
to set action and pickup heigth. I built a Custum Les Real. :)
The next one will be much better for sure.
I just failed putting a pantry shelf up. I have thought about it but maybe it's not for me.

Oh, man. Sorry to hear that. I have basick carpentry skills. I can build a
and so forth. It's not top nothch, but it's good enough for me.
It was the sanding and getting colors right for staining and such. I didn't realize how thin the maple skins are on these guitars.
