Hi Bob !
Zu All meinte Bob Newell am Mon 18. Feb um 08:04h:
I went around Santa Fe and tried out some guitars in the $1500
range, and they just didn't have the sweet sound and smooth
playability of my old instrument.
Any recommendations? To do better than my Hernandis, what price
range should I look at?
I'd say it doesn't neccessarily depend on the price.
Maybe you'd rather look into a shop where they sell used instruments.
Recently, I wanted to get rid of my old guitar and made a visit to such a shop,
and.. well... I found what I was looking for, and it was everything else than expensive.
I tried out one guitar after the other, and the one I bought was a
Vester VDN 735, ca. 12 years old, for 250 Euro... minus 100, for my old guitar. Made in Korea, but Sound as earthy and strong as Caporal tobacco... absolutely clean intonation, as far as Pythagoras allows ;), and still comfortable to play
with 0.12" strings.
If you're looking for something new, beautiful, traditional and extravagant, you might like to try out a Washburn R305 or (iirc) a R312 or 308, one of the latter two exists, is really expensive and has a huge lack of ordinarity ;) They're both parlour guitars..
