I'm a believer, CLarksville....Penny lane/Strwaberry Fields..and

Can I part with them...no......why not you ask ? <shrug> ?

I'll admit it. I once bought a single by Tommy Roe.
'Hooray for Hazel'. In fact, I still have kind of a nostlagic
soft spot for that song. ;-)
I've still got a 45 of "Downtown" by Petula Clark ;>

Heh. Yeah, I still *love* that song! ;-) In fact, it's
probably still one of my favourite songs of the sixties.
I guess we're getting into the realm of 'guilty pleasures' here.
I've got a bunch of 'em! I'm not going to post a list, 'cause I'll
bet some people here have worked pretty hard to forget some of this
stuff. <grin> (Also, I don't need any more people starting to
question my sanity!) ;-\

Heh. Yeah, I've still got a 45 r.p.m. record box I bought way
back when, too. I got rid of a lot of my singles back in the
70s, and only have a few left, but I sure wish I had some of them
back now.

Bet you didn't know she did stuff in French too. She was quite a
hit here in Quebec way back when.
"45 collection"
You realize how few of todays youth have seen a dial telephone, or
non remote TV ?
Man has not walked on the moon during the life of the

My daughter (12) saw some 33rpm albums about 6 months ago, and
asked my wife and I what they were. Man, did I feel old. She
wondered how you play them, so we had to explain it. She was
amazed.

It's funny, the teenagers around here really like
vinyl. All the Gen X record stores cary a large
collection of 33's and 45's put out by newer groups.
Maybe it's just a Northwest thing.

You can't tell me you never sat there staring at an album cover
while listening to the album. I can remember tripping while
staring at King Crimson's "Court Of The Crimson King" album.
<laugh>
"north weat thing"
Rich, I think not...Vinyl..albeit to a small scale. aslways existed thru=out..didn't pearl jam always use vinyl in the early 90's. as
well as one or two other groups ?..turntables were always to be
found somewhere..even if they were the stanton DJ type.... now
finding a cartridge for the BIC turntable..that was a bit tough
Nope. It's nationwide. Vinyl is making a comeback. A small
comeback, but a comeback none the less. I don't know where it
started, but I'm starting to see turntables in catalogs again, and
more and more releases. Gee, maybe the days of great album
cover art can return too. You just can't get great cover
art (like in the 60s/70s) on a 4.7" x 4.7" space. It's a
lost treasure.

You can even buy a turntable at Radio Shack! Iagree on the cover art.
At my age, even with my glasses, I need amagnifying glass to see the
"whole" picture, not to mention reading theliner notes.
Best Buy has turntables also -- at a reasonable
price. Almost bought ne the other day, before I
realized I have no space for one. Guess I'll have
to move into a bigger place first... I've got
somehting like 4 big milk crates full of vinyl
that are just collecting dust.
I have tons of vinyl and at least 3 turntablestransfer.
available to me. I even
have one hooked up to the system now. I've been
transferring some
records to tape. May even try a record to CD

Nothing guilty at all. We liked them back in the day...
Maybe a sound track for another time.

I have that one somewhere around "the Israelites".
I have a few that are as current as Blood Sweat and Tears too :)

Well...some of us were buying the Stones, the Bluesbreakers,
the Kinks, ect. Not *all* of us had bublegum mentalities.

That's one of the few things I've managed to hang on to over the
years, I've got hundreds of them.
My mother threw out all my comic books and baseball cards when
I was in the army. You don't even want to know the kind of
prices they would bring now.

I'll have to dig through my 45 case and see what moldy oldies I have
in there. Probably all in pretty poor condition as I used to carry
them around to parties where they got played on all sorts of
terrible phonos.
just bought myself a "vintage" Gibson Falcon amp. Single 12" speaker
with 2 6BQ5 tubes. Reverb and tremolo. Haven't had a chance to really "wring" it out yet. First shot at it it sounded pretty good. Needs a little cleaning up.
