  • Personal mail scan

    Hello All,

    I am using GED+ under Devuan Linux 4.0 and for the life of me I cannot get personal mail scan to work. Is this broken or am I doing something wrong? I have my name set up in GOLDED.CFG but still no dice.

    Is USERNAME set to your first last names ?

    Oh and have you set
    ADDRESS to your primary AKA
    AKA (one per line for each AKA you will be using

    As I am a registerd user I have have set :

    REGISTERKEY
    REGISTERNAME first last names

    but if you are not don't bother with the last two.

    Tried without domains?

    Is this the same issue than since 2015? Was there a working config since then? For long term issues i'd like to suggest a fresh simple config to reduce complexity.

    I seem to remember configuring "AREAPMSCAN" in my config.

    From the manual:

    AREAPMSCAN <echoid mask>

    This keyword defines areas which will be automatically scanned for
    personal mail when starting GoldED. DOS/4DOS-style wildcards (*
    and ?) can be used in the echoid mask.

    Examples:

    AREAPMSCAN * Scan all areas.
    AREAPMSCAN *INTER* Scan all areas containing "INTER" anywhere
    in the echoid.
    AREAPMSCAN INT*.* Scan all areas beginning with "INT" and
    containing a '.' anywhere in the echoid.

    It is recommended to have an "AREAPMSCAN *" to scan all areas at
    startup. If you don't want to wait for the scan to complete, you
    can abort the scan by pressing ESC during startup.
