I am not sure if I did this correctly or not. I am from NJ and looked up region as Zone 1 and region is 13. I made node address 1:13/9999, and it emailed nandre@net229.org. I tested email by sending to my internet address and received and guessing my email working through BBS.

Sounds correct (for a temporary FidoNet node address). There's a automated script that does that stuff here:
