Excited to see the BBS revitalization scene is healthy!

It's a nice reminder to take care of the things that treated us.

Hope to see more converstation here in the future!

Yep, it was a nice time back then, and still is!

Thinking of getting a Bluetooth-to-line converter and a USB modem to be able to try out the dial-up side of the BBS here. Possibly switching to that as the BBS line in the future *if* it would work somewhat reliably...

    Best regards

Are you currently running another modem setup? I have been using SIP ATA devices with fair success (as long as echo cancelation can be disabled, and the jitter buffer set to a fixed value) - Linksys PAP2T have worked well for me. I got a bluetooth-to-POTS adapter (to link with a mobile phone) but I haven't actually tried that one yet - using SIP has been more convenient for me. Always curious to hear what kind of different setups are working!

    Hi Ryan.

Welcome to fsxNet and thanks for taking the time to post in the general chat echo. I hope you have had some fun getting your system set up and tinkering etc. with the software.

The guys here are supportive and helpful ... you'll find with the global time differences there can be bursts of posts coming in and some stuff written from the 'future' (hint: New Zealand is in the future vs Northern Hemisphere :-)) flows in from time to time.

Sunday night as I write this, a nasty storm is starting to hit the country over the coming 24-48 hours... it's early Autumn here.

    Best, Paul

Currently I have a modem hooked up to a SIP ATA device (router built-in), but haven't got access to any of those settings, so cannot choose codec or other variables. Works, but not very stable.

The Bluetooth-to-POTS adapter would be a nice, portable dial-up solution, so if/when you do try it out, please let me know how it goes! =)

    Best regards
