Well we were expecting quite the storm here on Cape Cod. It was my turn
to cook so I made a great meal and had a nice fire going in the
fireplace. Right when dinner was ready the lights went out due to the
high gusts of wind. So we ate by the fire and LED lights and it was actually quite nice. The power came back on in an hour. Wow! That's a worlds record....
I was expecting the lights to go out around here, spent last week
getting a new UPS set up, and a UPS set up on my cable modem. I
found a nice program called NUT (Network UPS Tools) that lets
non-conntected systems shut down automatically when the UPS detects a
power loss, so no more scrambling around.
