From Daryl Stout@1:2320/33 to Sean Dennis on Wed Mar 16 11:30:00 2022
    Sean,

I nearly died on March 23, 2020 of both a DVT and a PE. I was hospitalized for four days from them. I have been taking Elliquis
(blood thinner) since. I had a vascular ultrasound on December 20 and
it showed the clot to be half-gone. I am told that since I have had a clot, I will be at risk for the rest of my life.

I'm on Eliquis as well, diagnosed with atrial fibrillation last summer.
I was hospitalized twice, with a heart rate of 155. I'm not sure if it was caused by the Covid-19 shot, or for drinking a half gallon of diet green
tea citrus a day. But, since I rarely drink carbonated beverages anymore,
I haven't had kidney or bladder stones in over 2 years.

They first had me on diltiazem, but now, I'm on propafenone hydrochloride (try saying that fast)...and also on Metoprolol for hypertension (high
blood pressure). Those 2 have stabilized the heart rate and blood pressure... but I'm to see my cardiologist on Monday, the day before my birthday.

Unfortunately, stormy weather the rule here now...I get storms and BBS downtime for 2 days...good weather and BBS uptime for 2 days...then the
    cycle repeats itself.

With the stormy weather, I won't get to eat out on my birthday for a
free birthday dinner. Golden Corral sent me a coupon for "a free
birthday buffet"...but I'd have to purchase a buffet to get the free
one. Robert Heinlein was right when he said "TANSTAFFL". Lately, the
birthday songs are so hokey and embarrassing.

I'm reminded of the joke where this guy was to have surgery just
before his birthday, and he'd be in the hospital on his birthday.
His friends decided to try to cheer him up, and sent a female stripper
to visit him. She walked in the room, with a fur coat on...removed it,
and standing there naked as a jaybird, says "Happy Birthday!! I'm here
to give you the Super Sex". He looked at her, thought a moment, and
said "I'll have the soup, please". <G>
