From Paul Hayton@3:770/1 to All on Tue Oct 7 20:44:47 2014
    Hi All,

Question for both Mark and Paul and others...

I see FE has its own stats generation tool but I am wondering if there were
any other utils developed by 3rd parties that offered other stats reporting using the FE database?

There is no way to modify the template of the report FE produces - right?
Just the known switches when invoking the reporting that control output of groups etc.

Yep, there's some. Anything written to access your JAM areas ought to be the best to aim for. (There may be some that might read your FastEcho.Cfg but I don't recall any of those, except for a JAM diagnostic util: JamInfo.) I've been using FE's own stats ever since day #1.

One of interest is: RBTStat 3.20 - JAM Message Base Statistics for local/echomail areas/groups. It is somewhat dated from 2001, though there may be later versions about. If you want it, say so.

Another that might tickle your fancy is the Turquoise stats system, and if you get the MBSE echo then check out Vince's monthly reports - somehow I managed to
download the sources archive in a tar.gz file... dunno why.[shrug]

I want to say 'no' but Mark may know more.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Thanks Paul :-)

OK I'll head off and take a look at both. Thus far I've uncovered FeStatB
1.47 which dates to around 97 but that had been it to date.

    Best, P.

that may be what i use here... it counts after each toss and the numbers appear
to be correct so i don;t worry about it... no reason to, ya know? ;)

Yes, this is rather good. Just been playing with it tonight. I like it but it looks like you need to call it multiple times for each JAM base you want a report on :-(

    Will this run under win32?

    Yes, that's exactly the case.

    file... dunno why.[shrug]

    Will this run under win32?

Well, the readme.win32 file says (in part):

"This is the Win32 version of Turquoise SuperStat. It is not supported by Softwolves Software, and there might be things that do not work properly. If you have any ideas on how to improve this version, please contact the author."

(The rest gives a little advice on compiling.)

Not a lot of motivation there, unless you're into wrestling with compiler environments. I don't have anything any more, and like it that way.

If you can't do tar.gz (archive) files and you would care to persist with the notion of trying it then I could re-package it into a zip for you, and drop it off to your system. Your wish is my command.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Poop. Still it is rather good at detail. I can see several .bat calls to
almost identical command lines to make it work well. Not sure if I want to spend the time building them all though.

Well, the readme.win32 file says (in part):

Aha, I had thought we might be talking about another bit of software other
than the two you mentioned. But I think I'm wrong and you're still referring
to Turquoise - right? If so then thanks but no and I think I have the files
in the .zip I pulled down from the Filegate echoarea. :)
