• FE config question

    From Roy Witt@1:387/22 to Y'all on Sat Jan 23 17:08:33 2010

In the past when I config FE to have a NETMAIL folder, it gets confused
and re-tosses netmail until the cows come home. When I go to read
echomail, I find several copies of old netmails in the NETMAIL folder.

I don't need to have FE even know about NETMAIL, as IREX and GoldED seem
to know what to do with it and I have successfully left FE out of the
picture for years. Now, I'd like to post a file to netmail, however I find
a small problem when using FEUTIL.EXE...which does the posting.

    If you use the command:

FEUTIL post a-file NETMAIL -To "some sysop" -Addr "Fido address" etc...

FE returns an error message that it can't find the NETMAIL folder.

The path is L:\FE\NETMAIL :o) and I'm running the FE utility in the L:\FE folder where the executable is kept.

If I give it a path to the folder, it still can't find it.

Any ideas on how to get around this? Or any config advice?

this sounds like a config error... there are two netmail areas... the main one is the one that the mailer(s like FD) use... the other one(s) are internal to the BBS... they are not the same and you do not want your mailer's netmail area
to be accessible via the bbs... it is only for the mailers and tossers...

as for your other problem, i don't have an answer as i've not used feutil to post anything in many years... especially not after my PostIt utility was completed ;)

There isn't one here, but this has given me an idea that I may try out.
I'll create another netmail area and the path will be different than the
    main (FD type) netmail area.

it is only for the mailers and tossers...

Well, if the above works out.
