From Lawrence Lancaster@6:653/1501 to All on Sun Jul 23 03:48:31 2000
    Hello All!

When I try to add 6:653/1500 to the "Export to" field in Group Area Defaults, It gives me an error message: Poings can't handle multiple downlinks.
Before adding 6:653/1500, there is only 3:774/605 in the Export to field. And seen-by is 6:653/1501. Even if I add 1500 to "export to", it doesn't export ANY mail to 6:653/1500.

What shall I do so that it can work properly?

It sounds to me that you have a point system key -or- that your primary FTN address is a point address. Double-check your address setup and remove any point entry. If you have a point key you will need to upgrade that to a regular
    key.

I finally found what was the problem.
I used a _Point_ key instead of a Node Key.
I have solved it. Thanks. :))

Well, I don't know much about fastecho, but the error says you can't /export/ message in area HNET_TEST without /active downlinks/.

So, I would imagine, if you don't have any active downlinks for that area, you don't need to export anything for it (ie: unset export, since you said you set it).

Export to is set, and that's the downlinks. Turns out I think it was a VM error. I'd changed some settings, but they hadn't taken effect.

Ok, again I delete my directory structure, recreated it and everything
started working again. VMs are weird.

Nicholas, Shurato is having issues with Netmail so I'm wondering what's going on here with exporting messages. Have you gotten netmail messages from him?
I need to resolve his issue with my system. He sent a packet and my system handled what he said was a netmail message was processed by my Mystic system
as an echomail message. Just curious to see what the hiccup is. I don't
know anything about Fastecho either. I've used BinkD, Mystic, Synchronet's BinkIt and Taurus/Radius and some others, I don't think it's a mailer issue.
I think it's more of how the message is being saved. It should be posted to AreaFix (@ my FTN) with his password and all that regards in a netmail based message base.

I have no idea without any logs or a clue as to what's happening.

No. Nor do I even know if he attempted to send me one. I haven't heard anything, and with what he had originally posted it didn't look like it had anything to do with netmail.

I would tend to agree it's not a mailer issue. It's possible EleBBS has a different way to save/pack netmail that maybe isn't set right. Or if all that is set right, then the same kind of settings would have to be used in Fastecho. If EleBBS is saving the message as echomail, Fastecho will pass it on as echomail.
