That's a more complex issue as it evolved overtime (2009-12) and I have

seen sites with a number of variations based on the beta
    testing/discussions.

    The basics of it were:

    \http\public\AccountCreated.wct

    \http\public\newuser.wct

    \http\template\SignUpPage.css

    \http\template\SignupPage.wct

    Optional:

    \http\template\Signup-Header.wct

    \http\template\Signup-Footer.wct

    Apps:

    html-captcha,wcx

    html-checkcaptcha.wcx

    html-wcajax.wcx

There are also associated error templates and cookie checks.

Sysops have done a lot customization in this area but the stock

    should be:

    c:\wc5\http\errors\unauthorized.wct

the files will range in date from around 2002 onwards so you may
    have

    c:\wc5\http\errors\unauthorized.htm

rather than .wct. The same applies for the other stock \error

The above is an important point.

There are components that SSI worked on in 2006, 2009 and 2012. During
that period Hector publicly posted various ZIP files e.g.

    validate.zip
    wc45xxvalidate.zip

which included .INC .WCT and .WCC components. They also included versions of:

    html-validate
    html-validate-user

depending on what you did or did not keep and/or what you have or have not unzipped you could have a different setup to me or others.

In particular there were different iterations of how to set the validation requirement and the applet to call. I believe the plan was for SSI to eventually put everything in the core WCL.

To resolve the issue I think you would need to state:

    1. Where you are SETTING the Email Validation Required Flag
    2. Which template it is launching from
    3. Clarify whether you are talking about HTML-VALIDATE.WCT or HTML-VALIDATE.WCX

    Jerry

I had a quick look at SSI's stock solution.

In the current version it only uses

    html-validate-user.wcx

there appears to be no reference to the html-validate.* used during the development phase(s) which some users still use.
