    Hello Bill,

Seems like that good ole' boy Rick is in some deep doodoo... this is going to
be so much fun to watch...

I like Governor Perry. He is a real barrel of laughs.
While he is nowhere near as smart as former Governor Edwin
Edwards of Louisiana, he does have his moments.

    Let the party begin!!!

For Edwin Edwards, a convicted felon who served 10 years in the pen,
the party is just beginning. At age 87, he is running for Congress.
As a Democrat in a blood red district. And it looks like he just
might win. Here is an excerpt from a recent televised debate -

    Moderator Lee Zurik:
"Can a Democrat win a state office, including governor, again?"

    Edwin Edwards:
"Get me a pardon and I will show you."

And you thought I was joking when I said Louisiana has the best
politicians that money can buy. :)

Legally, this is a joke. No one is going to believe that it is illegal to
    try
to get someone to take a legal action by conditioning it on a legal action.
    It
is not as absurd as when the same office tried to go after Kay Bailey's
    phone,
    but it is pretty close.

Quite possible... but it is going to be fun to watch as I stated.

Politically, it is a dumb act of revenge. They want to get some testimony
    in
that will publicize the ethics investigations of the Perry administration
    by
the ethics panel that lost some money, but unless they can get some solid evidence that his "real" reason for the veto was to hurt the investigations
    I
cannot see a judge letting it in. Not even a Texas judge. And if the prosecution DOES make the case that he was trying to kill the
    investigations,
that UNDERCUTS the whole idea that he was trying to coerce her into
    resigning.

From what I read the prosecutor is a judge...

Politically, they should be trying to HELP Perry's 2016 chances. He is
    dumb.
He is inept. His campaign will self-destruct next spring some time. If he

gets hurt politically by this, in spite of being eventually acquitted, that

just pushes him out of the way early, and offers more momentum for some candidate that is less dumb and less inept.

Oh, I agree but there are a quite a few who thinks he walks on water in the lone star. I do enjoy getting a chuckle from the things he forgets during the debates though, so I hope he hangs in there. Imagine the grand jury waited to see if Rick was nominated and then pulled the trigger... now THAT would have been hilarious!!!

And it does nothing to take the drunk DA off the public streets before
    anyone
    is killed in a wreck.

Wonder how many felt the same way about GW Bush's DUI and "expungned" coke conviction or Dick Cheney's two DWI pops.

In reviewing Texas statistics, DWI seems to be quite popular with the good ol' boys... or in this case, gal. They lead the nation in deaths resulting from DWI. Good work boys...

You enjoy yourself, boy. This is nothing more than the same trick the Dems
used to oust a controversial US House rep. It's known as 'dirty politics'
even in Houston where the idea originated.

Boy? LOL... you think too highly of yourself to be calling anyone a boy. Oh wait, your "gun" is talking now. I guess that took the place of your cojones.

It maybe dirty politics, but is there anything else in politics? I'm rather curious why Michael McCrum, who was hand picked by two GOP senators for US Attorney in your little neck of the woods would see fit to bring charges against a GOP governor that were confirmed by a grand jury.

As I said, it's going to be quite the comedy. Wonder if they have a tailor in Beaumont?

The newspaper stories may be fun. And there could be some fun if the prosecution gets to start subpoenaing e-mails and questioning witnesses
    under
oath. The fishing expedition might turn up some extraneous things. They usually do. But the courtroom part of the case will be short or
    non-existent
unless there is more to it than has been publicized so far.

Weren't grand jury subpoenas and testimony under oath? There's more than meets the eye here...

My guess is that, like Hillary Clinton, neither one has driven their own car in

many years. Maybe the safest thing is to move Rosemary up to higher office instead of pushing her out.

heney got busted when he was in college, more than fifty years ago. Bush's >was almost forty years ago, before he stopped drinking. Not really the same as
a middle-aged DA with an open vodka bottle getting nasty to where she had to be
    chained down.

DWI is DWI. Agreed, a middle aged woman shouldn't put herself in that situation but then again, as I stated, Texas leads the nation in DWI deaths so it not uncommon for anyone down there to be "tipsy" while driving.

As for the coke claim, if you believe that then you must believe
every silly story that someone floats in books with anonymous sources. If you

believe that Bush was busted for coke and then had every trace of the arrest, >detention, arraignment, trial, prosecution, verdict, and sentence "expunged" >from the face of the earth, but you DON'T believe that Bill Clinton >participated in running cocaine through the Mena airport, that would be an >interesting double standard.

Where did I ever say that about Clinton? You bring an interesting subject into the conversation though. What are your thoughts on Bush I, Ollie and the rest of the CIA? If you were governor of any state and the CIA decided to setup shop in your backyard for clandestine operations, would you be holding a press conference the next day about it?

But I forgot, you and Damon believe all kinds of wild things.

    Not wild but plausable...

BTW, why do you keep moving my posts to another echo?

    Democrats.

    LOL! Little.

fit to bring charges against a GOP governor that were confirmed by a
    grand jury.

Grand juries aren't hand selected, only trial juries are selected on a
fair level of scrutiny by opposing counsil. The input by 37 out of 50
governors seems to support the other side. BTW, the stupid bitch who ran
her mouth was fired because she was a low-life alcoholic (Democrat) who
was arrested for DUI, which is why she lost her job.

As I said, it's going to be quite the comedy. Wonder if they have a

It'll never get that far and there's no reason to think that it will be.
