Neil stands alone! Rush is my favorite band, and I'm still torn up about it. This really has not been a great year, has it?

No, no it has not been a good year. On Saturday, Neil's birthday, Modern Drummer had a 3 hour (paid) online festival with much/most of it dedicated to Neil's life and legacy. It was good to hear from those close to him and the drummer/fans only knew him through his music and words and the inspiration he gave to them. It was pretty good (especially if you like *lots* of drum solos). I can try to put it online for you to see, if you want.

I would check it out if you decided to share it, no obligation on your part, though, of course.

What a nice tribute to Neil. Some of my favorite songs of all time are Rush songs, and all of those songs had lyrics written by him.

"Red Barchetta" is a masterpiece that makes me stop and listen every time it comes on. In fact, I'm listening to it right now...

Down on his farm, my uncle preserved for me an old machine
    For fifty odd years.
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.
    ...
    A brilliant red Barchetta
    From a better vanished time

The funny thing is, that time is now.

Sorry for the meandering thoughs. I'm just playing around with the editor and seeing what composing messgaes on this is like. This has got to be the best editor I've ever used on a BBS. Well done.
