People that believe God does not exist become their own little gods. Therefore gods exist. Paul taught that if God did not exist, then we Christian's should be pitied above all men. So if you lake the faith to believe, at least pity those that do. They spend their days uslessly praying for those that don't belive will be saved.

As has been pointed out already, you're replying to a post that's damn near 15 years old.

    But why not, I'll bite.

Ah, pity. Why is it Christans love to play the victim? "Look at us, we're so oppressed!" "We're ridiculed!" "pity us!"

Christianity is the largest religion--as a whole--by population.

I don't know what you're replying to because you didn't quote, and I haven't read this sub in *many* years. Whatever I said was said a long time ago and was very possibly stupid. It was almost certainly an effort to stir up shit because that amused me at the time and my life was boring.

I'll speak from my current perspective without necessarily defending what I said earlier, because I'm not sure what that was.

People that believe God does not exist become their own little gods. Therefore gods exist. Paul taught that if God did not exist, then we

No, I am not my own god. There is no god in my life. I don't need one.

Your position seems to be built on an assumption that "god" is necessary. I suspect you can't fathom someone living a life without *something* taking on the role of "god". It's a void that doesn't *need* to be filled.

You might want to respond with some slippery definition of what "god" means to illustrate that I am my own god in some way, but please don't. If I said "god does not exist" I meant I don't believe in God, heaven, hell, magic, etc. and you know damn well that's what I meant.

Christian's should be pitied above all men. So if you lake the faith to believe, at least pity those that do. They spend their days uslessly praying for those that don't belive will be saved.

I pity the religious only for whatever pain their religion brings them. If they feel their prayers are useless and resent the effort, then yeah, I'm sorry they are going through that. If they suffer from guilt, shame, feelings of unworthiness resulting from their beliefs and not with some basis in rational thought, I pity them for that too.

Beyond that? I don't care. Believe whatever you want, especially if it brings you some comfort. As long as it isn't hurting anyone else.

What an absolute garbage argument and masterpiece of begging the question. You assume your own premise and then double down by invoking the Bible. Perfection.

I'm a Christian and don't believe those things. I don't believe I'm a victim. People are allowed their own opions and I respect that. I don't try to convert people either. This may be wrong in the eyes of other Christians, but that's their opinion too. I believe in God in my own way.
