    How come everytime I have driven over the border into Canada, there are signs that say "Firearms are Prohibited in Canada"?


    Until recently, in Canada, firearms were restricted, not prohibited...

    I have friends and relatives who hunt and fish in Canada, and if you're going there to hunt, the border guys want to make sure your hunting rifle is all
    you brought. If you have any ammunition in your vehicle or camper for any other firearm, they'll want to perform a search to ensure you aren't bringin a ny other firearms in. A friend had that happen because they found a .22lr round in the ashtray.
