I've heard of Rural King, but we don't have any around here. I think the closest we get is Murdoch's. The one here in sell firearms, they're right next door to Sportsmans' Warehouse so that's understandable, but the one in Laramie does.
We really like the atmosphere and the store as a whole! They have good,
GLASS bottle root beer, good peanut butter filled pretzel bites for
snacks - LOL - and of course a good selection of guns, ammo and other accesories.

"They" is Rural King, right? We don't have one here, but I think the next town over does.
My local RK has some really firendly and helpful employees. Most look like they are happy to work there. The guys behind the gun counter are knowledgable about what's in stock and what other shops in the area are selling similar guns and ammo for.

That is good information to know. :)

Rural King is similar to Tractor Supply Co or the chain formerly known as Farm and Fleet. At first, they didn't sell firearms, then a few years after w e got a local store they added guns and ammo to their sporting goods. Funny thing is on a shooting forum I frequent, there was a member posting in the state specific forum areas that he was a marketing guy for a major farm store chain, and wanted feedback on which brands to shop for, and wanted to know if customers would be interested in buying ammunition by the case or crate load (1000 rounds or more.) After RK brought in firearms, it was pretty clear who he worked for.

I stopped by the store recently, and they had placed barriers by the
gun counter to limit how many people were in that area at one time.
Looks like they have more guns in than normal, but my guess is the distrubutors are selling them at a discount to RK since the smaller
mom/ pop shops may not be open to full capacity.
We have a TSC in the town where we work. It replaced a local place
called Homestead, which had a gun department. I wish TSC did too...
The one we go to - Martin, TN - also has mostly friendly folks! The gun
guys though - one is VERY very good - but a couple are goobs. LOL

I think that had to do with social distancing...

I don't know... I bet they just have a warehouse full somewhere where
they restock the stores as things sell...

manually :-( and have been trudging through getting caught up - so
please forgive me if I've replied to this alreaddy...

Yes - Rural King. Just about an hour or so from home, so makes for a
good day trip. :-)

Farm and Fleet sold guns, then they dissolved into TSC's and Family
and Farms. Family and Farms stock just a few, like old surplus Mosin Nagants, Ruger 10/22's or Henry rifles. Maybe a Savage or Remington budget model or two.

I probably have one about 20-30 minutes from here. Once things get
more back towards normal (or once I get more comfortable with the new normal!), it sounds like I need to pay them a visit!
