IRC isn't Synchronet specific. It's Internet Relay Chat. You can use one of a million IRC clients out there. If you have a Linux shell and want text IRC, there is 'irssi' and 'wechat' and a ton of others. If you have Windows, there is AdiIRC and Hexchat and a ton more. If you have Mac, a lot of the clients are pay but you can compile Textual yourself for free (or I can put a compiled copy somewhere for you). With any of them, you just connect to irc.synchro.net.

For more infos, do a search on how to join IRC from <whatever OS you use>.

I'm not retarted buddy.. (had that checked, more than likely have a much higherIQ than you) you seem to want to put everyone else down, call them retarted,
stupid, whatever, but from what I can see here on this network you have nothing'productive' whatsoever to say, all you do is tell others how they are wrong,
not quoting correctly, etc, but this is really all you ever say.. nothing else.. no real input of value.. and this "Downvote PingPong" I've been playing with you for the last couple weeks is just a blast..

I'm with you here. Especially with any software working across a network, at a minimum security updates should be a thing. I'm not sure it's necessary to keep development going full time, as long as someone can provide security updates.

Check out the self-hosted Web-based client TheLounge (https://thelounge.chat). If you have a place to run it, like maybe a NAS that's always on, it's pretty nice to use from any platform with a modern browser. It even does push notifications to mobile browsers. Also it makes it nice and easy to switch from computer to computer (or device or whatever).

The way I've got it set up is: SSL proxy -> TheLounge -> ZNC -> IRC.

Looks nice - I have an old mIRC license, been playing with HexChat. Now that they're most likely not developing HexChat any more, it might be time for a change.

The problem is Mirc licences are not long term anymore :(

oh yeah i see that. how long has it been like that?
    my keygen is still working.
i only use mirc on my shitty bots because their scripting is so easy.

I always liked mIRC. But I haven't used it much in a while, and I think the UI has changed a bit.

I suggest looking into AdiIRC; it's free, and is compatible with mIRC scripts as well as extended colors (16-99).
